Provides a means of reversing windlass from a variety of owner designated stations while maintaining a safety electrical interlock that will prevent a short circuit. This might ordinarily result when multiple operators at multiple operation stations, such as; cockpit remotes, deck switches, or roving remotes, operate the windlass in opposing modes. In the event multiple operators simultaneously activate opposing directions the windlass instantly shuts itself off and waits for another instruction. The submariner reversing circuit overall size measures 11 ½" X 9 ½" X 5". Enclosures are manufactured of fire retardant, self-extinguishing fiberglass and are provided with four compression gland lock connectors. The units also come with one 6-foot pigtail harness, terminated at a stainless steel barrier strip for under deck connections. Contactors are 400 amp, continuous duty 4 pole type with silver contact surfaces. The submariner reversing circuit also serves as a central junction terminal for all accessories and remote stations that Lighthouse manufactures. The unit may also be located anywhere in the vessel for ready accessibility.
The Model 2000 package consists of the meter, waterproof connectors at each end of the 12-wire harness, and two count sensors. The count function is displayed on the LCD as a negative (-) preceding the number, which identifies how much chain has been payed out. The chain counter knows automatically, the direction the chain is traveling, whether in or out, and will either add or subtract from that total. Thus giving you the number in feet of anchor chain disbursed as a negative number. The count sensors count only the chain, and not extrapolations from gears. This allows for operation in both manual and power modes. The Model 2000 does not depend on the ships power. Power is supplied by a built in lithium power supply that will last 8 to 10 years. Because the meter is always on, you do not have to be concerned with remembering to turn on a switch to count the chain. Should someone accidentally reset the chain counter, all display information will then be displayed, preceded by a plus (+) sign. The console provides switches for remote up and down functions, as well as meter reset. Night lighting is provided by internal illumination and is powered by external 8 to 32 volt DC ships instrument lighting.
Designed for underwater use up to a depth of 50 ft. Allows operator to operate windlass from anywhere on deck. May be used to raise or lower dinghies, place cargo, cleaning of anchor from bow pulpit. The underwater operation of the windlass allows for freeing rodes or raising objects from underwater.
Displayed from left to right in the photo, are (1) Low voltage DC bi-directional control valve, providing reversible operation of hydraulic motor. (2) Hydraulic/electric junction box, provides for multiple operation stations and LCD count consoles. LCD can be operated from various points on the vessel to share information. 110/220 AC systems to be reduced to low voltage DC system for operator safety. (3) Hydraulic motor operates at 2000 psi from 5.5gpm to 12.8 gpm and will deliver 6.4hp to 15hp at 2500 rpm. All hydraulic components are designed for use in the marine environment using waterproof electrical connections, potted actuator coils and stainless steel fastenings.
